He interprets nature in an entirely unique figurative language. Konrad M\u00e4gi is a breath-taking modernist on the same level as Edvard Munch and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Konrad M\u00e4gi Foundation Award is given to an individual or collective who have significantly contributed to the promotion of the life and work of Konrad M\u00e4gi (1878\u20131925), the most important painter in the Estonian art history. Previous award winners include the EMMA Museum director Pilvi Kalhama (2022), film director Marianne K\u00f5rver (2020), designer T\u00f5nis Saadoja (2019) and art historian Eero Epner (2018). The prize amounts to \u20ac5,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festive award ceremony took place on November 1<sup>st<\/sup>, in Tartu, where an international conference on the 145<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the birth of Konrad M\u00e4gi was held at the Heino Eller Music School.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nils Ohlsen, director of the Lillehammer Art Museum, is the winner of the Konrad M\u00e4gi Foundation Award 2023.
