Konrad Mägi in London
From March 24, a solo exhibition of Konrad Mägi’s work will be open at the prestigious Dulwich Gallery in London. This is the first solo exhibition of an older generation Estonian artist in Great Britain. The exhibition features over 60 works from different periods of Mägi’s career. “From radiant skies to psychologically charged portraits, each work pulsates with energy and experimentation, revealing a short but astonishingly inventive career shaped by travel and personal struggles,” reads the exhibition introduction.
The Dulwich Gallery was opened in 1817. The architecture was innovative, placing great emphasis on light. It is the oldest gallery open to the public in England. The gallery has a rich collection of older English, French, Italian, and Spanish art, and also organizes exhibitions.
The Konrad Mägi exhibition will remain open until July 12. The museum’s partner is the Art Museum of Estonia, and the main sponsors of the exhibition are the Konrad Mägi Foundation and NG Investeeringud.
