Theater Awards for a play about Konrad Mägi
On March 27, International Theatre Day, the theater awards were announced.
The Best Actor award went to Rasmus Kaljujärv for his role as Konrad Mägi in the production “Fever” (Vanemuine National Theater). The production “Fever” was created on the initiative of the Konrad Mägi Foundation, with its cooperation and support, by commissioning Priit Põldma to write a play of the same name. The play tells the story of the friendship between Konrad Mägi and Nikolai Triik, the intertwining of their personalities, and the inner tensions and aspirations on the path of art. The second prize went to the production for Pille Jänese’s artistic work.
In total, “Fever” was nominated in five categories: Priit Põldma’s play, Andres Mähar’s performance as Nikolai Triik, and Lena Barbara Luhse’s performance as Valentina Grekova, Viktoria Martna, and Erika. Priit Põldma’s play has received much acclaim, including the Siim and Kristi Kallas Foundation Award and the Konrad Mägi Foundation Annual Award.
Twenty years ago, in 2005, Hendrik Toompere also won the Best Actor award for his performance as Konrad Mägi in the production “Külmetava kunstniku portree” (MTÜ R.A.A.A.M).
